制作意図, for what?
ヒトと混じって使われるような可動製品は、親しみをもたれるためにあえて、「人型」にすることが多い。
さらにLEDや液晶パネルにより「顔」や「表情」をもたせてる製品も多い。
一方で、「横からみたら平面」とか、「ライトにしかみえない」など、決して「顔ではない」ともいえる。
今回の試作は、「どの方向からみても顔らしい」デバイスを作成し、実際のフィーリングや反応をはかる。
人らしく、ロボットらしく、あるいは、万能表示盤として。
In many cases, "robots" are made to attract surrounding humans by mimicked "face".
Face and expressions are made by LED or flat-displays.
However, previous devices only accept audiences in straight position.
Side view? Angled view? ... ofcourse, alo needed. So, I made this.

素材確認 , Materials


今回の材料。80cmくらいの高さの巨大ぬいぐるみ。
Today's material. Huge stuffed rabbit, 800mm height.



小型プロジェクター。1080P解像度。
Small projector with 1920x1080 resolution.



透明PET製のマスク。仮装につかう加工用かな。
Transparent facial mask by PET material.

全部あわせても200USD以下の安価な汎用品。
Total cost less than 200USD.


実証テスト, Test

素材で何ができるかをテストする。
Trial to clarify "what can be done with these materials"?


反射ではなく透過光学系のため、「ばれないように」散乱させる。粗いサンドペーパー。
Not reflection, but transparent optical systems. Micro-scratch was made.


裏側からバックプロジェクションする。
Back-projection.


焦点距離は、一眼レフ用のレンズで近づけて調整する。
Focan length adjusted.


顔パターン。パワポで作る。
Facial pattery by power-point.


髪の毛つけてみる。
With hair-wig.


フレームづくり , making rigid frame



銅線をつかったフレームづくり。
Copper wire for frame.


タイラップで顔マスクの固定。
Facial mask attaced by zip-ties.


立体的に剛性をだす。光学アライメントをだすため。
Rigid fixation to keep optical allignment.


ぬいぐるみへの埋め込み , into stuffed animal



動物の顔をきりぬいていく。
Cut, cut, cut...


常に完成をイメージしつつ、アイデアを作りつつ。。。
