music "touch piano" for full analogue musicplay
proposed by Prof.Satoshi Nishimura image00 / Jichi Med Univ(JAPAN)

-background-
Previous keyboard only transmit information from timing and speed of key press.
However, many analogue notes are with slow increasings. (ex. violin, chelo, trumpet, horn, vocals...).
"After touch" (commercially available) only provide some changes after press.
"After touch" is usually for entire "channel", not for each key.

-our proposal-
Herein, we make keyboard from sensors, mechanical amplifier, converters, and software.

This keyboard transmit changes of "forces" in real-time manner, for EACH KEY.
In contrast, conventinoal keyboard just transmit "timing and speed" of key presses.
Recent music only uses notes with similar beginning, completely different from real (analogue) sounds.
Our system, dynamically transmit those notes into digital.
As a results, music can be much more dynamic.

-scientific significance-
Is this only for "art"? ... "NO"
This proposal is a part of "man-machine-interface research".
In fact, previous interface is not enought to transmit human intention to machine.
Human not only push operate zero-or-one button.
Human use soft, feather-like, gentle, graually increasing,, ,, so many kinds of touches.
Our sensor can transmit more information without noticing differences from conventional oens.

how it is made, in pics & mp4

1. make pressure sensor

2. amplify signals from finger touch by soft material

3. use plastic parts from commercial keyboard

4. attach sensors and make wirings

5. convert signals by 64ch 10bit ADC and transmit via MIDI by arduino

6. make sounds by external modules

more suitable for FM sound modules, not for PCM

pretest1 -check how sensor works-

pretest2 -make sound by analogue osillator-
